The Coronavirus Hello everyone, as more information has come out regarding the Coronavirus, I have been tirelessly researching additional ways to improve prevention through immune enhancing supplements as well as developing an expanded treatment plan. Two of the products that I recommended in my previous newsletter, my Enhanced Liposomal Vitamin C and Anti-VRL Complex, are unfortunately on back order due to the overwhelming response to my first newsletter but fear not, I have come up with several excellent replacement products that I will discuss below. If you are reading this new newsletter and have those two products, you can still take them and there is no need to replace them with the alternative products. Presentation of the Coronavirus There are 3 keynote symptoms of the Corona virus: Fever, shortness of breath, and cough. With the flu, these symptoms can also be present but there will also be fatigue and body and muscle aches. With the common cold we will typically see a low or no fever, a runny nose and cough with phlegm. With the Coronavirus the cough tends to be drier and there is no runny nose. According what I’ve read the Coronavirus starts with a sore throat lasting 3-4 days, and then moves to the lungs and can lead to pneumonia. With the pneumonia comes the high fever, cough and shortness of breath. Prevention of the Coronavirus The first step in preventing any type of viral infection is to obviously wash your hands frequently, as the virus can live on your hands. You can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on. Patients have asked me about wearing a mask and my response is that it may be fine if someone already has the virus and doesn’t want to spread it by coughing or sneezing on people but to protect you, they are less effective. Masks only cover the mouth and nose but viruses can enter through the eyes and if you have the virus on your hands and adjust that mask the virus can easily get into your mouth or nose. After being out in crowds it’s important to change your clothes and wash them since viruses can survive on clothing for up to 12 hours, normal laundry detergent can kill it. Getting adequate sleep is also very important, try to shoot for at least 7 ½ hours per night at a minimum to insure your immune system is working at full strength. Proper nutrition is of utmost importance to keeping your immune system working optimally as well. As you all know I’m a huge advocate of a low carbohydrate, moderate protein, higher fat diet. Excessive sugar and carbs in the diet can really slow down the immune system and make you more susceptible to infections. Now let’s discuss some of the supplements that I recommend for prevention of not only this virus but any other virus that may be going around. |
Olive Leaf Extract
The first product that I am recommending to my patients for both prevention and treatment is my Olive Leaf Extract.
Olive leaf extract not only has strong anti-viral activity but also immune enhancing qualities; it protects the cilia of the lungs and can have a mucus drying effect in the case of mucus and fluid development in the lungs that can come with lung infections.
For prevention I recommend 2 capsules a day and for treatment the dosage can be increased to 2 capsules 3 times a day for the duration of illness.
Real C
The second product that I am using in my practice for both prevention and treatment is my Real C vitamin C product. Everyone knows that vitamin C is good for the immune system and it helps us get over colds and flues much faster when taken in higher dosages at the first sign of any issue. My Real C product contains a food based form of vitamin C to maximize absorption and utilization. In addition to the food based vitamin C found in this product there are also additional anti-oxidants like grape seed extract, green tea extract, pine bark extract, red wine extract and citrus bioflavonoids. These powerful anti-oxidants help neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative damage in the lungs due to the inflammatory process that can occur with this viral infection. Real C also provides important supportive nutrients for the adrenal glands that can become extremely overtaxed with any type of infection. For prevention I recommend 2 capsules a day and for treatment the dosage can be increased to 2 capsules 3-4 times a day for the duration of the illness. |
Vita-D3-Mulsion
The third product that I’m using in my practice for the prevention and treatment of the Coronavirus is my Vita-D3-Mulsion liquid vitamin D. Vitamin D enhances the body’s ability to fight off viral pathogens that enter into the body. It works by helping our immune cells make an enzyme that helps liquefy the pathogen once it’s been engulfed by these cells. One of the reasons why we are more prone to colds and flues in the winter is because of the lack of sunlight this time of the year and with less sunlight our bodies produce less vitamin D leaving us more vulnerable. I recommend that everyone get their vitamin D blood levels checked so they at least have a baseline. An ideal blood range for vitamin D this time of the year is between 65-75. I will routinely see patients with levels in the single digits which can make them very susceptible to infections. For Prevention: Taking only 2-3 drops (4,000-6,000iu’s) of my Vita-D3-mulsion can substantially raise blood levels into this therapeutic range. Once you know your starting level through blood testing you can safely increase the dose under your doctor’s supervision to a higher dose to help fight off a virus if you were to get sick. |
Herbal Immuno-Biotic
Finally, the last product that I’ve added to my expanded Coronavirus prevention and treatment protocol is my Herbal Immuno-Biotic. This powerful well-rounded immune enhancing product is packed with nutrients, herbals and mushroom extracts to give the immune system a leg up in both preventing and treating viral infections. For prevention the recommended dose is 1-2 capsules a day and for treatment the dosage can be increased to 3 capsules 3 times a day for the duration of illness |
Right now there is no direct conventional treatment available for the Coronavirus, only supportive treatments such as medications to open up the airways, ventilators, IV fluids and fever and pain relievers like Tylenol or Ibuprofen. The four main products discussed above may be the perfect addition to everyone’s medicine cabinet to not only potentially prevent the virus but also help enhance the immune system’s ability to combat it naturally if it is acquired. So in summary: Stay calm, wash your hands, avoid crowds or sick people, get enough sleep, eat a healthy low carb diet, and start taking this month’s 4 featured products.
